Planning to sit the LANTITE in 2027? ACER hasn't published the official 2027 test windows yet — they're typically released late in the prior year. This page tracks exactly what's confirmed, what to expect based on ACER's consistent annual pattern, and the one remaining chance to sit the test in 2026. We update this page as soon as ACER announces the official 2027 dates, so bookmark it if you're planning ahead.

The short answer

As of August 2026, ACER has not yet released the 2027 LANTITE test dates. Based on the last several years, expect four test windows in 2027 — roughly February, May, August and late October — with the official schedule published on ACER's test dates page toward the end of 2026.

Last chance to sit in 2026: Test Window 4

If you'd rather not wait for 2027, one window remains this year — and its registration period opens soon:

Test window Registration opens Registration closes Test dates
2026 Window 4 22 September 2026 5 October 2026 26 October – 8 November 2026

Registration opens between 10am–12pm on the first day and closes at 5pm Melbourne time on the last day. If you're sitting by remote proctoring, note that the remote window ends five days before the test window closes.

Registration windows are short — about two weeks. The single most common way people end up "waiting for next year" is missing the registration window, not the test itself. Put 22 September in your calendar now.

Expected 2027 test windows (based on ACER's pattern)

ACER has run four windows a year in the same rhythm for years. The 2026 schedule looked like this, and 2027 is very likely to follow the same shape:

Window 2026 (confirmed) 2027 (expected pattern — not yet announced)
Window 1 9–22 February (reg. 7–20 January) Early–mid February (reg. early January)
Window 2 4–17 May (reg. 31 March – 13 April) Early–mid May (reg. late March – mid April)
Window 3 3–16 August (reg. 30 June – 13 July) Early–mid August (reg. late June – mid July)
Window 4 26 October – 8 November (reg. 22 September – 5 October) Late October – early November (reg. late September – early October)

To be clear: the 2027 column is our projection from ACER's established pattern, not an announcement. Always confirm against ACER's official page before planning around a date.

What this means if you're planning for 2027

  • Sitting early in 2027? Registration for Window 1 will likely open in the first weeks of January — over the university break, which is exactly when it's easiest to miss. Set a reminder for early January.
  • Need your result before a final-year practicum? Work backwards: results are typically released a few weeks after the window closes. If your provider needs results by mid-year, Window 1 or 2 is your target, and Window 2 is the last comfortable option.
  • First year of an ITE course? Since 2024, first-year students are expected to have a test attempt in their first year — an early window keeps that requirement off your plate.
  • Only one component to pass? If you've already passed literacy or numeracy, you only re-sit the component you haven't met — same windows, same registration process.

How to use the wait

The months before dates are announced are the cheapest preparation time you'll ever get — no deadline pressure, no registration stress. By the time 2027 Window 1 registration opens, you want to be deciding when to sit, not whether you're ready. A steady half-hour a few times a week between now and January comfortably covers the full skill list for most people.

Frequently asked questions

When will ACER release the 2027 LANTITE dates?

ACER doesn't pre-announce a release date, but the schedule has historically appeared on their test dates page late in the prior year. We check regularly and will update this page the day the 2027 dates are published.

How many times a year can I sit the LANTITE?

There are four windows a year. How many attempts you may use is governed by ACER's attempt rules and your provider's requirements — most candidates are limited to three attempts per component overall, so it's worth preparing properly rather than burning an attempt to "see what it's like". (Our LANTITE explained guide covers the attempt rules in detail.)

Can I sit the test remotely in 2027?

Remote proctoring has been available alongside test centres in every recent window and there's no indication that changes in 2027. Note the remote sitting period ends five days before each window closes, so remote candidates effectively have a slightly shorter window.

How much does the LANTITE cost?

Check the current fee on ACER's registration page when you book — fees are set per component and can change year to year.

What should I do right now?

If you can be ready by late October, register for 2026 Window 4 on 22 September and be done with it this year. If 2027 is your year, bookmark this page for the official dates, set a January reminder for Window 1 registration, and start steady preparation now — our 8-week preparation guide maps out exactly what that looks like.
