Dates as published by ACER at teacheredtest.acer.edu.au. Registration opens on the morning of the first day and closes at 5pm AEST/AEDT on the last day. Results come out on a single release day for everyone who sat in that window, four to five weeks after it closes; ACER lists Window 4's release as the week ending 4 December. How registration windows work
ACER runs four test windows a year. Registration opens about five weeks before each window and closes three weeks before it, and it all happens on ACER's own site, teacheredtest.acer.edu.au. No third party can register you, and nobody can get you in after the deadline.
Registration deadlines are strict
Late registrations are not accepted under any circumstances. Test centres in the capital cities fill early in the window, so register in the first few days to get your preferred date and location.
What missing a window costs you
The next window is about three months away, and its results another month after that. Miss Window 4 and your next results arrive in late March 2027:
- Registration 12 – 25 January 2027
- Test 15 – 28 February 2027
- Check your course's own deadline for passing before final placement or graduation

Critical: Your name must match your ID EXACTLY. Any mismatch may prevent you from taking the test. You'll need to bring this same ID to the test center.

What changed for 2026
Unlimited attempts
Following the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan trial there is no longer a limit on LANTITE attempts. You can sit as many times as you need to meet the standard; each attempt is a new registration and a new fee.
Attempt it in first year
Students who started an initial teacher education course in 2024 or later are expected to attempt LANTITE before the end of their first year. You don't have to pass in first year, but you are expected to sit it.
Better results feedback
ACER's results statements now say more about the areas you need to work on, which makes a second attempt much easier to prepare for.

ACER provides accommodations for candidates with disabilities, medical conditions, or other special circumstances. You must apply for special provisions BEFORE registering for your test.

What if I need to cancel my registration?
ACER has a strict cancellation policy. Refunds are typically only available if you cancel well before the registration deadline. Check the specific policy on ACER's website.
How many times can I take the test?
There is NO LIMIT on test attempts! You can register and sit the test as many times as needed to achieve the required standard. Each attempt requires a new registration and payment.
When will I receive my results?
Four to five weeks after the test window closes, on a single release day for everyone who sat in that window (in 2026 it has been a Thursday; see the table above). ACER emails you when your results statement is in your account. If you don't meet the standard, read what happens after a failed LANTITE: there is no limit on attempts, and the next window is usually about three months away.
What if I have technical issues during remote proctoring?
ACER provides technical support during remote proctored tests. However, it's crucial to test your system beforehand and ensure you meet all technical requirements to avoid issues on test day.
